Who Is Juelz Santana? Biography
LaRon Rapper Louis James, best known by his stage name Juelz Santana, hails from the United States and is a part of The Diplomats, popularly known as Dipset, an East Coast hip-hop trio.
He is most recognized for his contributions to Chris Brown’s 2005 triple-platinum hit, “Run It!,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks as well as Cam’ron’s 2002 singles, “Oh Boy” and “Hey Ma,” which peaked at numbers 4 and 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, respectively.
Santana received a sentence of 27 months in jail in December 2018 for bringing an unsecured handgun into an airport in his suitcase.
On August 5, 2020, he was released early from prison after serving 19 of his 27-month sentence.
Juelz Santana Personal Life, Marriage Life, Family
LaRon James was born in New York City to Dominican and African American parents. He was raised in Manhattan’s Sugar Hill, Harlem neighborhood, where he started rapping at the age of five.
While watching the Diplomats perform at the Apollo Theater on November 23, 2018, Santana got down on one knee and proposed to urban model and video vixen Kimbella Vandehee. On January 10, 2019, they exchanged vows.
Juelz Santana Career
James was introduced to Cam’ron’s in 1998 by his cousin Tobe. Shortly after that, he adopted the stage name Juelz Santana and joined his hip-hop group.
Due to the album’s popularity, Santana and the other Diplomats decided to establish contracts with Roc-a-Fella under the name Diplomat Records. Santana released his debut album, From Me to U, on August 19, 2003. It reached number 8 on the Billboard 200.
Juelz Santana Cases
After a 10-month investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Gang Unit, Santana’s recording facility in Bergenfield, New Jersey, was raided in January 2011. Two loaded 9 mm handguns, crates of ammo, and 84 grams of marijuana were recovered.
